Licensed Veterinary Technicians

Burke has been a Licensed Veterinary Technician here at RIVER CITY VETERINARY HOSPITAL since 2015 and worked with Dr. Heather for years prior to that. He graduated from Blue Ridge Community College in 2008 and has been practicing in the Richmond area since. While animals come first, Burke also attended VCUs art school, and has an affinity for drawing and illustration. Burke also plays several instruments, and sings; Truly a renaissance man!

Kelly earned a degree in Animal Biotechnology & Conservation from Delaware Valley University in 2006. She tried on a Zookeeper's uniform for several years before becoming an LVT through Penn Foster in 2017. Kelly has many special interest in the vet med field including Dentistry and Nutrition. When she's not at RCVH she enjoys cooking, crafting, hanging out with her 4 fur babies, and seeing live music.

Caitlin graduated from Blue Ridge Community College in 2014 and is one of our great Licensed Veterinary Technicians since 2017. Her favorite part of her job is client education- she is especially good at walking clients through the care they need to give their pet for any medical/ surgical situation. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking and painting, and hanging out with her dog, Quincy.
Maggie graduated with her LVT license from Blue Ridge Community College in 2020. After practicing for 2 years in Fredericksburg, she followed her partner to Richmond and joined the RCVH family in 2022. She loves encouraging the bond between pets and owners through knowledgeable care and with genuine compassion. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her partner, two cats, and pup. She loves baking and enjoys trying new recipes to share.

Emilee graduated from Longwood University in 2017 with a Bachelors in Biology. She started at RIVER CITY VETERINARY HOSPITAL working as a Client Service Representative, but quickly realized she loves being more hands on so she enrolled in school to become an LVT. In 2023, she graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at San Juan College. Within weeks of graduation, Emilee was promoted to Treatment Manager at RCVH. She still loves to exercise her LVT skills everyday, while helping to ensure our medical team upholds the highest standards. When she isn't working, she enjoys checking out the local breweries and vineyards, and spending time with her husband and her dog, Frank.

Christina started as assistant here at RIVER CITY VET HOSPITAL with six years of prior experience working with animals. After 5 years with RCVH, in early 2023, she graduated from the Licensed Veterinary Technician program at San Juan College. Her interests include going antiquing with her fiance, and going to the river with her fur babies.
Sam joined the RCVH team in 2023. Sam moved to Richmond from New York in December of 2022, where she had worked in the Veterinary field for 8 years. She graduated in 2018 from the Veterinary Technician program at SUNY Ulster. Animal care and making the veterinary experience positive for dogs and cats is her favorite part of the job. When not working she loves hiking, trying new restaurants and hanging out with her friends, family & dogs.
